ROCK CLIMBING
may - october
My love of French rock climbing is well over twenty years old. In France
there is a multitude of superb granite and limestone cliffs. I offer instruction
on single pitch routes and essential climbing skills, and guided ascents
of multi pitch routes. Here are a few of my favourite areas to climb:
- Haute Savoie
- Briançonnais
- Vercors
- Verdon gorge
- Les Calanques
- La Provence

TECHNICAL ALPINE CLIMBS
june - september
I offer guided ascents of long, technical and potentially quite committing
granite and mixed climbs in the Mont Blanc Massif.
GLACIAL TREKS
june - september
HIGH LEVEL ROUTES:
- Chamonix - Zermatt
- Monte Rosa
- Bernese Oberland
High alpine glacial walks are a wonderful way to discover the Alps in
the summer. To take part in one of these treks you should be able to walk
for up to 6-8 hours a day carrying a moderately heavy rucksack. These treks
are not very difficult technically speaking, but you do need to be roped
together when crossing glaciers.
4000 METRE PEAKS
june - september
Why not try some of the Alpine 4000 metre peaks?
CRYSTAL HUNTING
july - september
Crystal hunting is one of my pastimes I enjoy sharing with clients. This
can be a good way to acclimatise for a 4000 metre peak. Rather than joining
the crowds on the popular summits, it is so much nicer to go off the beaten
track and appreciate the stillness of the mountains.
VIA FERRATA
may - october
There are at least 5 via ferratas near the Chamonix valley.
INSURANCE:
It is essential to be adequately insured by a specialist company, which must cover all mountaineering activities. Also consider travel
insurance.
You can consult: The Austrian Alpine Club or The British Mountaineering
Council.
